Five Year Warranty

Warranty:

SmartVent warrants to the purchaser that this product is free from defects in the material and workmanship for a period of five years from the date of the installation. This warranty is only valid if proof of purchase in the form of a bill of sale, invoice or purchase receipt is presented at the time of request of service and if the attached warranty card is completed and returned to SmartVent.

The customer shall ensure that the goods are fit and suitable for the purpose for which they are required and the company is under no liability if they are not.

The Warranty is in addition to all other conditions, warranties, guarantees, rights and remedies which may be applied by relevant legislation in New Zealand.

This warranty will not be applicable if the product has not been operated and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and recommendations contained in the operating & installation instructions provided with the product, including changing the air filter on the SmartVent air handling unit when due, or if the product has been used in a manner other than for which it was originally designed, or if the damage, malfunction or failure has resulted from incorrect voltages, alterations, accident, misuse, neglect, abuse, faulty or improper installation or main supply problems.

A condition of the 5 year warranty is the use of genuine SmartVent parts and filters. The warranty on the entire system is void if non-genuine SmartVent parts (including but not limited to; controller, filter, duct, fan(s) and grilles) are used as this may affect performance. Simx Ltd takes no responsibility if non-genuine parts are supplied or installed by a third party.

We recommend that you keep all the original packaging as it provides the best protection should you have to store or transport this unit in the future.

The SmartVent warranty is limited to the components making up the system. Installation of the SmartVent system is carried out by an Independent Contractor who is a certified SmartVent Installer. Installation work and commissioning of your SmartVent is completed and warranted by the installer so in the event of any problems in relation to your system, your installer should be contacted in the first instance.

Our Goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the Goods repaired or replaced if the Goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Evolve tablets are covered by a one year warranty.

Filter replacement is not included in this warranty.

The warranty for equipment supplied by SmartVent other than SmartVent air ventilation systems will be as specified by the equipment manufacturer.

Performance Expectations:

Provided the Customer follows the Operating Guidelines and advice provided by SmartVent, the Customer can expect the SmartVent air ventilation system to provide a flow of filtered outside air that will improve the freshness of air in the home by displacing stale air, reduce the level of condensation and improve any dampness problems in the home. The improvement will be almost immediate. Depending on the month of installation, level of home heating and other factors it may take 2-4 weeks for the SmartVent to begin to make a noticeable difference in condensation and dampness control. In very damp homes the SmartVent will give even better results in the second winter of operation. Occasional or temporary 'misting' and condensation can occur at later times under certain conditions, particularly during climactic extremes and very cold periods.

The performance of the SmartVent may be affected by factors outside the Company's control, including the Customer's adherence to the Operating Guidelines; maintaining an adequate level of home heating, particularly in the affected areas; use of unflued or bottled gas heating; climactic conditions; the configuration and construction of the installation property; and other external and environmental factors.

Control of condensation requires both adequate home heating and continuous ventilation [BRANZ,1990]. Unless indoor temperatures are maintained above minimal levels even normal levels of moisture contained in the air inside a home can cause condensation during very cold periods, even in homes which are otherwise adequately ventilated by and benefiting from the SmartVent system. On cold days and nights it may be necessary to use some additional heating to maintain adequate indoor temperatures and ensure a healthy and comfortable home environment.

A SmartVent ventilation system is NOT suitable to as a replacement to heat your home.

Submit a Return Request Form online to receive an authorisation number via email.

Print a copy of your email (Return Request Form including authorisation number).

Return the product to your supplier, or place of purchase, with the following documentation:

  • original proof of purchase,
  • a copy of the completed Return Request Form,
  • and the authorisation number (which has been provided when the Return Request Form was submitted)

If the product is covered under warranty and is deemed faulty by the manufacturer, it will be repaired, or replaced, and then returned to your supplier.

Your supplier will contact you to advise the product is ready to be collected.

If the product selected is not suitable for the home and is returned to Simx Ltd in ‘as new’ condition within 28 days from the date of purchase, we will consider refunding the full purchase price, excluding any shipping costs.
