Uniflexplus+ ducting: A compact solution.
Why Care About Ducting?
Ducting is one of the less glamorous but absolutely essential parts of a ventilation system. It's often difficult or time consuming to install, and getting it wrong can completely ruin a systems performance.
Traditional flexible ducting in NZ is typically 125-200mm dia, which is too large and unwieldy to fit into complex spaces like between walls, floors, and some ceiling spaces.
Flat, rigid ducting solutions are available for these situations, but they tend to be time consuming to install, requiring many unique individual components and careful planning and sealing to ensure airtightness.
A semi-rigid ducting system like Uniflexplus+, mixes these two solutions to get the flexibility and ease of use of flexible ducting, and the small footprint of rigid ducting.

How does Uniflexplus+ Ducting Work?
Uniflexplus+ uses a robust, two or three duct run design to maximise airflow with a minimal vertical footprint. This makes it ideal for residential applications with space constraints.
multiple duct runs is a lot to manage, which is why Uniflexplus+ features a simple 'click' connection system between ducting and distribution boxes, so installation is as simple as cutting to size and pushing it together!
The benefits of using Uniflexplus+ over other ducting methods includes:
- Low installation height
- Fast mounting
- Few components
- Robust and airtight

Low Installation Height
Uniflexplus+ semi-rigid ducting is ideal for use in applications with limited space.
It's compact and modular nature means that it is great for handling complex spaces like those found between walls and floors, or between the iron supports in a concrete slab.
For added flexibility, three sizes of ducting and distribution boxes are available:
-
90mm round, ≈ 150mm ducting (when two duct runs are used).
-
69mm round, ≈ 125mm ducting (when three duct runs are used).
-
52x132mm rectangular, roughly ≈ 100mm ducting.

Fast Mounting
Save costs during construction thanks to Uniflexplus+ fast mounting. Thanks to it's patented 'click' system, installation is as simple as cutting duct to size, and pushing it untill it clicks into the relevant distribution box.
This is particularly important because Uniflexplus+ is designed to function using several lengths of smaller ducting (which is what enables it to move the same amout of air as traditional ducting in a smaller vertical footprint), so quick and easy installation is a requirement.
The simple click system also eliminates the need to mess around with duct tape and other sealants.

Few Components
Thanks to its blend of flexible and rigid components, Uniflexplus+ only needs a few parts to form a complete ducting system.
This saves space, money, and complexity.
All you need is:
- A distribution box
- Semi-rigid ducting
- Mounting brackets
- Valve collectors
- An adjustable valve (diffuser)

Robust and Airtight
A robust, durable design means Uniflexplus+ systems are highly unlikely to be damaged or dented during construction. They're even tough enough to walk on, or embed within a concrete layer.
This durability and simple connection system means maintaining airtightness and preventing loss within the system is easy! Uniflexplus+ is ideal for heat recovery (MVHR) systems for this reason.
The ducting also features an antistatic and antibacterial finish, helping keep air fresh, clean and healthy.
